Thanks for asking! I like plants a lot because I find them very soothing to the eyes. Growing up, we had lots of plants at home from mango trees to hibiscus to tomatoes and eggplants. It attracts butterflies and fireflies before and that made me happy. I also find plants pretty, I have at least 20 succulents at home! 🙂
I love plants too! @Vivienne I’m also a filipina (well half) so love mangoes, but never lived there so very jealous you grew up with mango trees and hibiscus that’s amazing!
My Irish grandmother is actually my influence for my love of gardening and plants, I was always amazed by how she could name any plant/flower I pointed out and tell me a little bit about them 🙂
She also said gardening is good for the soul, and I stand by that – it’s really heart warming and exciting to see things you’ve planted and cared for flourish! And even better when you can eat them 😀 I grew tomatoes for the first time this lockdown and they are very tasty
Hi Louisa, that’s nice to know! I agree with your grandmother that gardening is good for the soul, I feel relaxed whenever I tend to my plants. If/when you visit the Philippines, I’m pretty sure you will have mangoes at least twice during your stay (mango milkshakes and ice-cream are my favourite, but I also enjoy green mango with bagoong).
I have colleagues who grow herbs and vegetables in their own homes and they’ve been loving it, too. Good luck with the plants, it’s nice to meet a fellow Filipina green thumb! 🙂

Btw, your eye is more sensitive to green than any other colours. Hence, in some ways, we are built to see plant… and to admire them!

This is new information for me, thanks for sharing Adrien! Very useful indeed in admiring plants 🙂
